Essay Writing Contest
As part of its endeavor to encourage law students to participate actively in public discourse, the Association of Law Students of the Philippines will be holding an essay writing contest based on its theme for the coming National Convention, “Reforming the Legal Orders to Suit the Modern Philippines.” The winning essay piece will be published in the souvenir program of the association for the coming National Convention. Only students from law schools which are duly registered in the association are eligible to join in the contest. Details for the essay writing contest are as follows:
Details:
Word Count: 200 words minimum to 500 words maximum
Font Type: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12
Margins: 1 inch on each side
Essay must be contained in one page
Deadline of Submission of Entries: March 12, 2011
Criteria for Judgment:
Contents - 50%
Relevance to Theme - 20%
Written Presentation – 30%

Research Contest
As part of its objectives of promulgating research and academic study among the various law students of the Philippines, the Association will be holding a research contest open to all law students of registered schools in the Association. Based on the theme “Reforming the Legal Orders to Suit the Modern Philippines,” we highly encourage all students to participate. The winning research article will be published in the upcoming souvenir program of the Association of the Law Students of the Philippines during the 2011 National Convention. Further Details are provided below:

A submission may be from an individual or a group composing of two to five members
Font Type: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12
Margins: 1 inch on each side
Research Output must be contained in a maximum of five pages inclusive of citations
Deadline of Submission of Entries: March 12, 2011
Criteria for Judgment:

Relevance to Theme - 20%
